On the 28th of August, a tragic incident unfolded in Kheeri Village, Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, where a 16-year-old 10th-grade student named Satyam Sharma was fatally attacked. The unfortunate event occurred as he was making his way home from school. The catalyst for this incident was a group of boys from the Muslim community who had allegedly been sexually harassing Satyam's sister/cousin. A video of the incident has gone viral on social media, where the young victim recounts the events of that day. She reveals that this was not the first time such an incident had occurred; in the past, these same boys had attempted to molest her. Despite reporting the issue to the school administration, no substantial measures were taken against the perpetrators. Tragically, on Monday, one of the molesters physically confronted again and grabbed the victim’s hand. In an act of bravery, Satyam Sharma intervened to protect his sister/cousin. Regrettably, he was outnumbered and subsequently subjected to a fatal assault by the group. Despite her continuous pleas for help, no one stepped up to support and defend them from the murderous gang of molesters. The incident has sparked outrage from the family and the Hindu Community. As tensions escalated, potentially leading to communal conflicts, the administration swiftly acted by apprehending five suspects and placing SHO on suspension due to his failure in carrying out his duties diligently.
